Con objeto de revisar los avances del proyecto del Banco Mundial en colaboración con el Gobierno de Chile, en apoyo a la transición hídrica sostenible y resiliente, se reunió el Ministro con Directivos del Banco Mundial; el Sr. Carlos Felipe Jaramillo, Vicepresidente del Banco Mundial para la Región de América Latina y el Caribe, y la Sra. Anna Wellenstein, Directora Regional para América Latina y el Caribe del Grupo de Prácticas de Desarrollo Sostenible del Banco Mundial.
En esta visita se revisaron los avances principales del programa, en cada uno de las áreas de resultado, así como la cartera de proyectos en agua potable y saneamiento, infraestructura hidráulica, e iniciativas que impulsen la gestión sostenible del agua.
A la vez se manifestó el interés de explorar oportunidades y de profundizar la colaboración del Banco Mundial con el Gobierno de Chile, y en especial con el Ministerio de Obras Públicas.
One of the main challenges for governments is that all scientific results on water issues strengthen knowledge systems, are integrated and allow water stakeholders to apply innovative solutions that respond to the real problems of communities and territories.
The reality is that all countries are currently facing the same challenges related to water security and none have sufficient resources to solve them, as well as to finance research, innovation and implementation of the change agenda.
